COVID-19 Intervention Mandate

We all have an important role to play in helping to prevent the spread of this Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  Until COVID-19 is eradicated, everyone is strongly urged to practice 'social distancing' which is perhaps one of our best weapons to safeguard ourselves, co-workers, and perhaps most importantly, our family and friends from exposure to COVID-19.

Social distancing is a public health safety intervention mandated by Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s proclamation on 19 March, 2020. It is to be implemented immediately to reduce the likelihood of transmitting this communicable disease. It involves minimizing exposure to infected individuals by avoiding large public gathering venues, adhering to spacing requirements in the workplace, and following proper personal hygiene practices.

We strongly urge the Board and Mariners Place Townhomes community to consider adopting the following personal actions:

• Stay home if you are ill to avoid exposure to the elderly and those with compromised health conditions.

 • Constantly practice good hygiene and sanitizing procedures.

 • Provide technologies that would allow you, your employees and community to work remotely from home.

 • If working remotely is not feasible, consider staggering work shifts to limit the number of staff in the office at any one time.

 • Refrain from face-to-face gatherings/meetings of groups to 10 or less.  Tele-conferencing is a good option when group meetings are necessary.

 • Avoid crowded places and ideally keep a distance of at least six (6) feet from one another.

 • Limit the number of people in elevators to three (3) or less persons. It’s not rude to say “I’ll take the next one”.

These are just a few actions that would go a long way to help prevent the further spread of this virus. Social distancing does not mean isolation, so reach out and find new ways to connect. Above all, practice patience and compassion during this difficult period.

While these adjustments to our normal routines are uncomfortable and at times, unpleasant, we all must take responsibility and the necessary steps to keep us all safe and healthy.
